Beliefs

I am currently working on my personal Statement of FaithWord to every Christian:  Please read your church’s Statement of Faith.  Every church has one.  It governs what the church believes and what is preached and taught.   If a church doesn’t believe in women preaching and you believe you are called to preach, you may want to seek another place of worship or reconsider your calling.  For each belief statement, there should be scripture to back up that statement.  Don’t accept anything less . . .

With all the so-called Christian web sites/blogs/podcasts out there, you don’t know where people are coming from.  Is the basic doctrine sound?  Do their beliefs closely fit with your personal beliefs? (Note, you can’t agree on everything but a foundation of belief systems puts everyone on the same communication page.)

THE SCRIPTURES

We Believe that the original manuscript of the Bible (Hebrew and Greek) was written by men divinely inspired by the Holy Spirit and is God’s revelation of Himself to man.  We accept the Bible as our infallible guide in matters pertaining to conduct and doctrine.   All Scripture is a testimony to Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation.

2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21

The original Hebrew and Greek text is infallible, although translations may be in error and subject for review.  It is for this reason that in Bible study, a concordance and a good commentary may be needed for in-depth study of God’s word.  The King James Version of the Bible is a translation, not the translation.
